Jeff?!?! Where have you been?!

Hell, at least that's what it's felt like. I have the start of an l5r character component that I will start to roll out and some of you may have already caught a glimpse of it. It's taken much longer than expected because of my real life situation. My mom came into town (gone now) and I had a second huge project dumped on my lap (not gone yet) that has prevented me from getting much meaningful work done on FRO. I am sorry for that. :( 

I have been talking to the admin team about the features that they want, and it looks like the character sheet will be at least as good as the one before.

So what's going on? 

User Registration will be opening sometime soon. Spambot prevention is being tested and put in place. If it all pans out well, we'll be opening the registration for the masses. :) No previous logins have been kept. Your forum logins are completely separate, and these logins will be the primary logins going forward. We will eventually have a forum integrated with the site, rather than having a site integrated with the forums.

Caity, Rini, and Becca are working on a template, but that's something that they can take some time to produce once they have something that they actually like.

I am learning more about developing for Joomla so I can make a character sheet. It's going to be very awesome compared to the old one. I have learned a lot of tricks since building it. 

Thought you would all like to know what's going on.

New Site!

Ok. Work is in progress on a new site. Yes, I obliterated the old site except for the forums. It's backed up on my computer if anything is necessary.

The forum still exists. There will be a new template and I will be adding some extensions.

This is going to mean some non-trivial changes to the site as a whole.. it should be exciting times.

Things are changing quickly. Different modules are being added, enabled, disabled, and tweaked as the staff work out what exactly will be used. There is another team of people working on a new template for the site rather than this default Joomla template. Don't be scared! Lots of things ARE going to change, but it will make the site much better and give the GMs much more cohesive tools to use.
